It took some Googling, but I finally figured out where else I'd seen these robots on the Interwebz. He's called "stikman" -- no C and no capitalization. (He's a copy editor's nightmare.) WaPo wrote a story in 2008 -- it's quite likely he's new to STL, though, and deserves another story.
